A lot of times in life and in business we can get ourselves caught up in tunnel vision. We lock on to a way of doing things and over timeĀ forget there are often multiple solutions to a single problem.
One thing we must do is be honest with ourselves. At the end of the day we just “don’t know what we do not know.” Ignorance might feel like bliss in the moment, but I can attest to you that it is not.
You don’t know what you do not know.
This is where an outside perspective is useful. The eyes and influence of others can be ever important.
My father and I have been blessed over the last few months by working with Robb Holman for some of his expert coaching and consulting. We have been working through a strategic restructuring of our business. So many times our solutions seemed to be forcing a round peg into a square whole.
A huge turnaround for us has been Robb guiding us back to the foundations of who we are as people, as leaders, employees, and so on. Getting back to the fundamentals is what makes us passionate and fills our days with purpose.
As we begin to address those needs, our business path is laid out before us. This is huge because numbers don’t always solve your problems or answer your questions.
These revelations are allowing us to re-structure and put the right people into the right positions in areas that were needed. It is clearer to us where to re-invest and what new markets to target and we better understand with whom we should partner.
These moves are inevitably taking our business and bottom line to a whole new level!
